Juvenile Law Center Testimony Supports State Funding of Indigent Juvenile Defense

On May, 2, 2011, Juvenile Law Center's Executive Director, Robert Schwartz, told a Pennsylvania House Committee about the consequences of failing to fund lawyers for youth accused of crime. 

Pennsylvania is the only state in the country that provides no state dollars for indigent juvenile defense.  "The children of Luzerne County are still paying for the failure to provide them with lawyers," Schwartz said.
