Services: Federal program that provides housing supports for individuals in need such as rental programs (including Section 8) and home ownership assistance programs

Skills of Central PA

Services: Services for individuals with disabilities: residential options, vocational and rehabilitative services, adult day services, life skills training

Housing Discrimination Hotline at HUD Regional Office - Philadelphia

Services: Hotline service for individuals to report incidences of housing discrimination.

Pennsylvania Interfaith Community Programs

Services: Rents apartments to the elderly, disabled and low-income residents in Adams County. Tenants are responsible to pay approximately 30% of their income for rent and utilities. Administers a home ownership program and builds homes for home-ownership opportunities.

Adams County Housing Authority

Services: Rents apartments to the elderly, disabled and low-income residents of Gettysburg; owns and rents apartments for farm worker families in Aspers; administers HUD Section 8 programs; and offers a home-ownership program and financial counseling.

Self-help Housing

Services: Helps low-income families build and own their own home.

USDA Rural Home Ownership Program

Services: U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Guaranteed Rural Home Loans are creating homeownership opportunities throughout Pennsylvania with no-money-down financing in rural communities and areas just outside of major metro areas.

PHFA Homeowner Emergency Mortage Assistance Program

Services:

Works to provide affordable homeownership and rental apartment options for older adults, low- and moderate-income families, and people with special housing needs.

Services:

Family law, custody, domestic violence, housing, foreclosures, access to medical care, public benefits, unemployment, barriers to employment, consumer law, elder law.

Adams County Shelter for the Homeless

Services: Homeless shelter.

Shelter Aid Hotline

Services: Offers referrals to shelter services in your area.

National Runaway Switchboard

Services: Toll-free, nationwide hot-line for runaways and troubled youth. Provides information and referral for shelter, counseling, medical and legal services and transportation back home. The hot-line also provides a personal and confidential message relay service between runaways and their families.

South Central Community Action Program

Services: Referrals to homeless shelters, food pantries, WIC programs, re-entry services, and emergency services in Adams and Franklin counties.

Hanover Safe Home

Services: Temporary shelter for victims of domestic violence, other supportive services for domestic violence victims include transportation, court advocacy, and support groups.
