President Obama Proclaims National Foster Care Month

Juvenile Law Center,

On April 28, 2016, President Obama signed a proclamation to recognize May as National Foster Care Month. The President emphasized the importance of permanency and family, access to education and educational achievement, trauma-informed care, and access to healthcare:

"Family is the bedrock of the American story, and we must do everything we can to support all young people so they can be free from harm, healthy, and ready to chart the course of our Nation's unwritten history."

This year, the theme for Foster Care Month is "Honoring, Uniting, and Celebrating Families." Learn more about how you can get involved this Foster Care Month at www.childwelfare.gov. Spread the word by sharing these posts on your social media networks.
